School, Boys, Life

School starts on the 23rd. I have twelve credits and they are all online except my photography class. I'll take that on Tuesday evenings. I'm pretty excited to start learning all kinds of stuff about photography.
Elder Bennion comes home in one month! I sent him a letter yesterday so I'll probably hear back next week! I'm definitely going to his homecoming, although I'm not sure if I can get the weekend off.
Caleb might come visit :) He's bringing Jake Schuler and I am going to set him up with Sierra McKnight! I'm so excited, we'll have lots of fun.
Speaking of Sierra.... She and I have made plans for our future together! In a year, we will move to Provo and go to BYU if we get accepted. We are going to apply and hope for the best. My aunt Sammi found me a job over there. Amir's uncle is starting a Curry Restaurant and they said they'd hire me whenever I come over. I'm really excited that Sierra is planning to go with me. Moving by yourself really sucks. My plan B is to go to Thailand with Ashlee for that semester if my plans with Sierra don't work out. And I'm still in the process of developing a plan C. I'm thinking it might be to go to DSC in St. George. I do have some other ideas in mind too though! What if I went to massage therapy school? I could do a program like that in about 7 or 8 months. I've also considered esthetician school. The newest idea though, is to go through a technical program to become a mechanic. I still want to get a four year degree in biology (Botany), but I could do more than one thing in my life. Maybe some man will sweep me off my feet and change all of my plans, but I'm not going to count on that for now. For now, I'm going to dream big and work my way to a happy place.

Workin Woman

I started my job about a week ago! I had orientation on the first and I started with the meat department on the second. To be completely honest, it's a lot more challenging than I thought it would be. I am in charge of ordering, stocking, rotating, etc the deli wall. Also, every night I am responsible for cleaning the shop. I take apart the big and little grinders, the band saw, the slicer, and the tenderizer. I spray down everything; first with degreaser, then a rinse, then with sanitizer. I have to do the dishes, clean out the sinks, and I clean off the wrapping machines. It takes me forever to get through all of it and I usually don't get off until an hour after I'm supposed to. I do like my schedule though, I work from 11 to 8 (or 9....). I really like working again. It gives me focus! And I need that.

Her Wedding

Yes, my best friend got married yesterday. It was a beautiful ceremony. She was gorgeous and her husband looked great in his uniform. We ate and danced and had a wonderful time. I wish them the best!

History

Let me start from the beginning. My name is Katie Jo. I was born in Delta, Utah in 1993. I lived in Washington, Utah until I was about two. My parents moved our family to Spring Creek, Nevada and they have been there ever since. In June of 2011 I graduated high school and made plans to attend Southern Utah University in the fall. I worked at Barrick Goldstrike on the "fire crew" for the summer and saved money for my education expenses. In August I moved to Cedar City, Utah and took 14 credits at SUU. I met wonderful people, had a lot of fun, and learned a ton about life. At the end of the semester though, I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to be back home. I wasn't exactly excited about leaving the University, but for whatever reason, going home felt right. So I packed up my bags and moved to Elko, Nevada. I am currently living in an apartment with my sister Krissie and our friend Rae Vonne (who got engaged today so she'll be moving out in a couple weeks). I got a job at a local grocery store as a meat deli clerk and will be starting a meat cutting apprenticeship soon. I'm really excited for the opportunity! I will be attending Great Basin College this coming spring to continue my trek towards obtaining that biology degree.
So there you have my history, follow me if you want to learn what's in my future!
